For decades, we’ve been sold the idea that fun requires a drink in hand. Connection, celebration, even grief, all of it has been paired with alcohol. The problem? Those moments of “togetherness” often come at the cost of our health, our clarity, and sometimes our safety. Numbing has been normalized as the fastest route to belonging. But what if joy didn’t require poisoning our bodies?
What if celebration could actually heal instead of harm?
That’s the question that inspired Nika Moeini, a soul purpose coach and entrepreneur, to create Coffee and Cacao Raves, vibrant morning parties designed for connection, community, and wellness.
From Bali to Canada: An Eat Pray Love Inspiration
Nika’s idea was born during her own “Eat Pray Love” journey in Bali. After a breakup, she immersed herself in cacao ceremonies rooted in Mayan and Aztec tradition. These gatherings involved intentionally drinking cacao, a heart-opening, wellness-focused elixir, followed by dancing and pure presence. No numbing. No hangovers. Just joy.
When she returned home, Nika carried that spark with her. Instead of waiting for someone else to bring this kind of event to Canada, she decided to create it herself. And so, the Coffee and Cacao Rave was born.
What’s a Coffee & Cacao Rave?
Imagine this: you walk into a sunlit venue on a Saturday morning. Instead of sticky floors and stale beer, you’re greeted with functional mushroom-infused cacao, ethically sourced coffee, kombucha, and plant-based treats. The music is alive, DJs spin while people dance freely. Around the room, a community market showcases sustainable brands, from zero-waste goods to handmade products. Everyone’s carrying their own mugs to cut down on single-use cups.
And the best part? No one is hiding behind alcohol. Everyone is fully present.
Each event has a playful theme. Past parties have included Mermaid, Y2K, and even Pumpkin Spice & Friendsgiving. Beyond fun aesthetics, though, the vibe is rooted in values: sustainability, wellness, and community.
Gen Z is Redefining the Party
Nika isn’t alone in this vision. A growing trend among Gen Z is shifting away from alcohol toward wellness-centred experiences. According to Eventbrite, sober-friendly and wellness-focused events have surged over 400 percent in recent years. Young people are showing up for parties where health and high-vibe living are not compromised.
This isn’t about missing out. It’s about creating new ways to celebrate that leave us feeling better, not worse.
From Numbing to Nourishing
For too long, our culture has taught us that alcohol (or fast food, or binge culture in general) is the shortcut to connection. But numbing only pushes down emotions; it doesn’t heal them. As Nika shared, true growth comes from learning emotional regulation tools and finding ways to move through feelings without suppressing them.
Coffee and Cacao Raves flip the script. Instead of escaping, people gather to be present, uplifted, and alive. They’re proving you don’t need a buzz to belong, you just need intention, music, and community.
Join the Movement
Whether you’re sober-curious, alcohol-free, or simply craving a new way to connect, these events are an invitation to rethink what partying can look like. Healthy food and drink, vibrant community, and mornings filled with music, this is celebration without the crash.
Nika is building more than just a party. She’s building a movement. One where wellness is the main event, sustainability is non-negotiable, and joy doesn’t require a hangover.
